Yo dude. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?!?! George Lucas spent A LOT of time and effort creating SW and Anakin Skywalker! You saying that is like insulting George. I may be only a ten year old girl but I am doing a biography on George Lucas, and I just hope he never sees what you wrote. F YOU dingbat you must not like SW either to be saying this.

I 100% disagree with this. I think the advent of cgi is one of the reasons the prequels suck so hard. George Lucas focused all his mental power on how to make the movies flashy and he forgot to write good dialogue, interesting/developed characters, and an interesting/moving plot. Instead we get the worst dialogue ever: > Anakin: You are so… beautiful. Padme: It’s only because I am so in love. Anakin: No, it’s because I’m so in love with you. Padme: So love has blinded you? Anakin: [laughs] Well, that’s not exactly what I meant. Padme: But it’s probably true. I mean wtf is that? As far as characters… we’re told about Anakin Skywalker, a fallen hero.. a tragedy. What we get is a whiny little bitch, with next to no redeeming qualities. I digress…
I was 5 years older than Sawyer when Star Wars (later renamed Episode IV: A New Hope) came out. The name Anakin is not mentioned in either Star Wars or The Empire Strikes Back. He is always referred to as “your father/my father”. He is not referred to as “Anakin Skywalker” until Return of the Jedi.
It's quite possible that Sawyer either didn't see Jedi, or did but didn't remember Vader's Jedi Knight name. I think it's safe to assume that Sawyer didn't see the prequels. To people who've only seen the original trilogy, Anakin Skywalker is not an important name. He only appears for about three seconds at the very end of the film. So I think it is quite believable that Sawyer makes many references to the original trilogy but doesn't know anything about the prequels. And Anakin is only an important name in the prequels.

Apologies for intruding on what seems to be a fruitful dialogue, but two items of note:
1) The Herald-Tribune, though no longer in existence, did evolve into Tribune Media, I believe. Before the WB coopted it they were the principal owners of formerly independent NYC TV station WPIX, channel 11, and I think they still have a hand in it. It might be worthwhile to probe some of their older original programming, most notably a latter 70's kids show called “The Magic Garden” (which I watched religiously [?!] as a toddler).
2) Mary Cheney, the veep's daughter, has just given birth to a son, who the more snarky websites are referring to as Anakin Skywalker, due to the mysterious nature of the father's identity, given her sexual orientation. While amusing, it is worthwhile to note:
a) this weekend is the 30th anniversary of Star Wars; and
b) we all know who Anakin Skywalker grows up to be. His grandfather must be so proud.
I think it is like how Obi Wan Kenobi treated Anakin Skywalker as being dead after he became Darth Vader.
I do fear Obama. I am scared to death that he is not an idiot. I am scared that he did not miscalculate anything… I am scared to death that he is doing what he is doing on purpose!
He didn't search for Luke because he was too involved in taking over the galaxy.At that point, without Padme he didnt really care.Only until he found Luke as a threat did he search for him.He didn't go back to tatooine because I think after his mother died all he had were bad memories of Tatooine and I'm pretty sure he never wanted to visit that place again.(Would you if you were a demented psychopath?) Once he started actually searching for Luke, Luke had already begun hs journey on his own destiny and could no longer be found on Tatooine.
If that had happen, there never would have been a premise for the STAR WARS original trilogy. You have to remember, the newest movies were not part of the original program. We weren't supposed to know all of that stuff before. Sure, it makes more sense if he would have gone after him, but then there would be no movie. It is like Harry Potter's quidditch. What is the point of the rest of the game if whoever catches the snitch wins?
Wow, its only a point of veiw, must someone like something else than your own liking….
