What is the best way to make a Princess Leia costume for a size 14/16?
I have to dress up for a fall festival this year. I want to be Princess Leia and my mom wants to make it to save money. What is the best way? I need help!
im talking about the gown with the hood =)
Try going to the local fabric stores, they surely would have
patterns for this Star Wars costume...
Also, look on the internet and get print-outs of
the Princess Leia character, I am sure you can
find a pattern that is similar at a fabric store and
slightly modified it to be a Leia costume...

This is a lot like MegaCon, which we attend every year, only like it's on crack and with way more famous people. At Mega Con the biggest actor I could see was Sean Astin or Lou Ferreigno. Pretty Cool, but here … Kevin Smith! Also the artists are WAY cooler, Stan Sakai, Sergio Arogones, GRIS GRIMLY!!! (got his autograph AND picture), The guys from Girl Genius and Unshelved!

No..she wasn't even "ok"…even if she didn't have all that star wars mess on they would have still said NO. but as nutty as she was-i think she was correct to a certain extent that they are looking for a certain kind of person and you do have to have "that look" and she certainly did not have it.

Like from Star Wars? I always thought is was LAY-Uh. But when looking at that name I would pronounce it like Leah. So if you name your daughter that, I would guess most people would pronounce it like Leah. Good Luck!
I agree with you- Leia is pronounced as "Lay-uh" and Leah is pronounced "Lee- uh".
Princess Leia Organa was Darth Vader's daughter, luke skywalker's twin sister, and love of Han Solo. In the sixth movie (third, the way they were released) she gets captured by Jabba the Hutt, a sluglike gang lord, and he makes her become his bellydancing slave, wearing nothing but a gold metal bikini (with no crotch coverage!) and a chain around her neck which he holds. She is forced to sleep on his dais.
This incredibly sexy image is referred to as "Slave Leia" and is now the subject of countless fanfic, numerous high quality figures and statues of her in the outfit, and a legion of surprisingly sexy geek girls who go to scifi conventions wearing the costume so guys like us can drool. Second, you'll NEVER get a girl to agree too this because it ISN'T a good thing. Look, if this is true, you've already got a hot girlfriend who's willing to wear the costume for you and actually go out in public in it. Celebrate that. Sure see if maybe she wants to do an evening or even a weekend of role-playing where she's chained up and has to obey you, but that's where it should stop.
If you ask your girl to be a full-time slave, she'll think you're a freak and you'll lose her forever. if the situation were reversed, would you ever give up all your freedoms to be a sex slave chained to a couch?
