Will there be a star wars episode 7 and/or 8?
I know this question sounds stupid, but word is that Lucas Arts will be releasing a Star Wars 7 and possibly 8. Of course, George Lucas himself won't be directing it, though.
Do you think there will be? Is there a helpful website that might have the answer?

Short answer - not one single chance in hell.
Long answer: Just wondering ... where is this "word" coming from? Anyone who says that Lucas won't be directing it is so full of it that it's running out their ears at the same rate as the oil is gushing out of that oil well in the Gulf. Lucas owns EVERY SINGLE THING THERE IS TO OWN when it comes to Star Wars and there is zero chance that he will ever let anyone else take the reins. Actually, I guess he might allow someone else to direct it but if you think he won't be standing there right over whoever is directing shoulder telling them what to do you don't know much about George Lucas.
Here's a very condensed version of the history of the story of Star Wars.
When Lucas first wrote the story line for SW it was a 12 episode mega saga. He wanted to tell it in the same fashion as the old Flash Gordon series back in the day. He realized that wouldn't work so after getting a little support from Fox he made what we now know as ep IV. Whether or not if it was supposed to actually be ep I or not is something that only Lucas knows and won't tell but there is verifiable proof that the first working title for what we now know as ep V was "2 of 12" ... in the end it is irrelevant anyways. A New Hope is different from the other movies in two ways. First it is the only one of them that can be seen as a stand alone movie. By that I mean it had a definite beginning and a definite end. If it had flopped as many, including Lucas to a certain extent, thought it would nobody would have had to know that there was more to the story. Second it is the only one of the movies that comes even remotely close to being told as the story line went. After that Lucas made two HUGE changes that led to the 6 movie epic saga that we have now. The first was to combine the characters of Darth Vader & Anakin Skywalker into one ... originally they were two different characters. This change led to the fabled "9 episode" story. The first trilogy was to be about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker, the second trilogy was to be about the rise of luke skywalker and the redemption of Anakin Skywalker, the third trilogy was to be about the "other Skywalker" that Yoda talks about in ep V. While writing the final duel between Luke and Vader in ep VI Lucas got stumped on what he could have Vader say to Luke that would cause Luke to attack his father in a dark side fueled rage. To solve this problem he made Leia the "other Skywalker". That change eliminated the third trilogy leaving us with the 6 movies ... end of story.
Most of these totally insane and totally incorrect "rumors" all come from the same place ... supershadow.com, the biggest fraud site on the net when it comes to SW. Nothing ... and I do mean NOTHING found on that site about future movies is true ... NONE of it. The man who runs the site, Mickey Suttle is about 5 & 99/100ths cans short of a 6 pack. He claims to be an "insider" at LucasFilm and good friends with Lucas himself. Neither is true. The guy is so far around the bend that he has faked up 100s of emails that are supposed to be between him and Lucas ... they aren't ... they are figments of his imagination. The only people he knows from LucasFilm are the lawyers because they are always suing him for the crap he posts on his site.
As has been said Lucas announced a few weeks ago that there were plans to do an animated "Robot Chicken" kind of sitcom/story but there has been absolutely nothing said about it since it was announced. I'm really hoping that the "silence" means that George has decided not to allow the show to be made but I wouldn't hold my breath on that. There is also a confirmed live action TV show coming in the near future. It will be set in between ep III & ep IV and will chronicle the formation of the Rebel Alliance and their many battles against the Empire leading up to ep IIV. This show was supposed to debut in the fall of 2010 but fall of 2011 seems more likely now as Lucas has just recently begun casting or the show.
In any event there will not ever be any more live action movies ... not now not never. I think the "rumor" you've heard is about all 6 movies being re-released in a true 3-D format. Target date for this in the summer of 2012

The 2nd bottom image under Jango & Boba is etched into my memory. It was featured on the back of a Star Wars Insider magazine years and years ago and I looked at it for hours. Thanks for giving me some crazy memories, I had no idea who the artist was that painted that image. Sanda has clearly done some very memorable Star Wars Artwork.
A pop culture allusion would be something along the lines of those shirts you see some people (Twilight fans) wearing that say "Team Edward."
That's an allusion to Twilight and that you support Edward's relationship with Bella. If you don't know who "Edward" is, then the allusion is lost.
Sorry, it's a Twilight one…it's the only one i can think of right now.

I was wondering the same thing!!! When I heard the news of his passing, my mouth dropped to the floor!! I expected at the very least a 20/20 or Dateline TV special of his life, but we got nothing! Very sad. My heart goes out to his family at this time.

Well, you've stumped me on one; but here goes for the rest.

3. I believe that would be against Ralph Bakshi (who also gave us the first X-Rated cartoon, "Fritz the Cat).
4. You got me here… The "Howard House" was built in 1850 and lasted till 1904, and then a new hotel called "The New Howard Hotel was built in 1906. So I'm just going to guess that it was Elevators.
5. Wonderfully entitled "The Wicked Bible." Also referred to by the inimitable Ben Jonson as "The Adulterer's Bible"
6. The preposterously named, Dr. Dionysus Lardener. (I've actually thought about this quote many times, particularly while "lead-footing" it on the Autobahn. It always brings a smile to my face).
7. Captain John W. Trimmer.
8. No, it's myth. In fact most birds have atrocious senses of smell. However, if you unduly disturb the nest, the returning mother may regard the nest site as unsafe and abandon it along with the eggs and hatchlings. This is undoubtedly how the myth got started.
9. The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In fact, Hitler was twice rejected, in 1907 and again in 1908. I've always wondered how history might have been different if the Academy had accepted him.
10. At the time, a "Macaroni" was someone obsessed with looking good. Later the term "Fop" or "Dandy" would take it's place. Yankee Doodle undoubtedly though himself quite "rakish" with his stylish feather. An 18th century "Up Yours" statement, no doubt.
