How can we get from Milan Centrale to the airport (Malpensa) late at night?


We're getting in between 11:30 and 12:30 to Milan from Florence. We have a 6 am flight from the airport. How might we get to the airport? Is there a shuttle, or do we have to call a cab? Also, can we wait outside the airport, or are we going to get moved at that time of the night? Thanks

The shuttle buses to Malpensa stop running at 11:15 pm. http://www.sea-aeroportimilano.it/en/malpensa/index.phtml?mod=per_scalo_scroll&to=come_arrivare When you get there, the only option is to take a cab which is very expensive (80 to 90 euro plus there will be a surcharge at that hour of the night). It's about an hour from Milano Centrale to the airport. At this time of year, the first bus leaves at 4:30 am. You cannot stay in the train station overnight.

If you get to the airport, you can stay in the airport overnight. See the reviews for sleeping in the airport here: http://www.sleepinginairports.net/europe/milan.htm It is not comfortable, but you can stay there.

What about a bill that gives funds so the space shuttle can create a metor shower?


Since were spending money, why don't they create a bill where the space shuttle spews out little chunks of earth to create a spectacular meteor shower for us on the fourth of july? Wouldn't that be something everyone would enjoy?

my answer would be, alright...AND if you don't want to wait that long like me, you can chill somewhere warm outside, between midnight and 5am.. as of yesterday its been said the showers been drizzling but steady..

How much of the Space Shuttle thrust goes to overcome air drag? If I could have an estimate percentage would be great.

The drag itself takes off rapidly as the vehicle gains speed, peaking when the vehicle is somewhere between Mach 1 and Mach 2. Then the drag quickly drops off as the vehicle ascends into thinner air, despite the fact that it is still gaining speed. The drag is roughly proportional to air density times the square of its speed relative to the craft.

Just before the point of maximum drag (known as 'max q'), NASA's shuttle actually throttles down its main engines to reduce loads on the vehicle. The SRBs are also made to have a temporary dip in thrust around max q.

Rather than looking at what fraction of instantaneous thrust is counteracted by drag, it is more useful to look at the delta-v lost due to launching out of an atmosphere. If the Earth had no atmosphere, and a rocket could launch horizontally, it would take about 7.5 km/s of delta-v to get to low Earth orbit (LEO). However, due to aerodynamic drag and gravity drag (accelerating vertically is inefficient), it really takes more like 9.5-10 km/s of delta-v to get to LEO. Aerodynamic drag makes up at least 1 km/s of this.

No. The last time they let a "civilian" on board it blew up. There are limited number of missions left and the time in space is too valuable for a stunt or a tourist.

How To Get Free Advertising For Your Website In These Easy Steps

There are a few different ways to get free advertising for your website but I am really only going to cover one. The one way I will cover is done with something that is near and dear to our hearts called Search Engine Optimization.

Keywords Are the Key

As you start to build and continue to add content to your website you want to make sure you use keywords. Keywords in lament terms are the words typed in a Search Engine search box for something that someone is looking for. You will want to use these keywords in your blog posts, articles, picture, and video you put on your site. This enhances your Search Engine Optimization, which helps with free advertising for your website.

Don't Forget Free Directories

Never forget to submit your website to free directories and small search engines like Yahoo and Bing. I would strongly recommend on focusing on the directories that that rank higher than your website. These directories get pumped out to thousands of people to be able to read your content.

Blog till the Cows Come Home

You definitely want some type of blog on your website and start to submit to the different blog and RSS directories. Use your blog the same way you would when you write an article in the sense that you want to keep it relevant to your site. Don't have a website about Golden Retrievers but add a few blog posts about the space shuttle docking with a space station. There is no relevance and this leads to a huge disconnect. You will lose your viewer. You can include any pertinent information just be respectful of other people's work. Give credit to others if you use their content.

Submit your articles to free websites like EzineArticles.com, ArticleBase.com, and EvanCarmichael.com to name a few.

Don't be a Quitter like the other 97%

Don't quit! Most people fail in this industry because they quit. They may not see results in a week or two and think it's not working, don't do this! You need to submit 1 or 2 articles a day, and be active on a few forums a day. Remember you are building a business, not taking one over. This is just a few ideas that show you how to get free advertising for your website.

Famous Landmarks in Oklahoma City

The famous landmarks in Oklahoma City offer a glimpse into the past of the city and also the state. Though most of these celebrate the achievements of the city and those of its former leaders and pioneering individuals, one of the landmarks is a sad reminder of the destructive effects of violence and is perhaps the most important – the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

Located at 620 North Harvey Avenue, the Oklahoma City National Memorial remembers those who lost their lives or their loved ones, as well as those who survived but whose lives were changed forever as a result of the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building by Timothy McVeigh. Built on the site of the building, the memorial consists of various sculptural attractions such as the 168 empty chairs and the reflecting pool. The entrances are marked by two golden hued gates. The Survivor Tree that survived the blast is another feature of the memorial. A museum on the blast is also located at the memorial.

The Oklahoma State Capitol is another of the famous landmarks in Oklahoma City. Though it was originally constructed during the period 1914 - 1917, the dome was only added in the 21st century. The dome is one of the most attractive features of the Capitol. It’s an incredible experience to view the interior of the dome from inside the Capitol building, since it epitomizes beauty and aesthetic perfection. Enoch Kelly Haney’s American Indian statue is placed on the top of the dome.

The Oklahoma City University is included in the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the most prominent and famous landmarks in OKC. The architectural attractions of the university are the administration buildings and the Gothic memorial library. Admission to the National Memorial, State Capitol and the University is free.

The other famous landmarks in Oklahoma City include important historic mansions such as the Henry Overholser Mansion, religious structures, and more. Hotels in OKC offer shuttle services to all the important destinations.

Att: Artsy/Crafty people! Need ideas for a Space Display for Grade School!?


I need to draw or put together a Space Shuttle that looks like it's blasting off. I can hang it from the ceiling, or tape it on the wall. The shuttle itself can be around 4 ft high, but I want to use something crafty that makes is look like it's blasting off, like cotton, or batting, or something like that, to make a more 3D effect. We're taping stars to what will be the "space" area the shuttle is heading to, and taping the kids pictures in the stars. We want to put the teacher's picture in a shuttle window to make it look like she's flying it! I just thought there might be a crafty person with a cool idea to help me! It'll be displayed in the hallway. The kids are about 9 years old, but the display is set up for everyone to enjoy.

see since you want it around four ft tall, go to a post office and ask them if you can have or buy one of those cardboard rolls you know? like when you run out of toilet paper that carboard cylinder, that's what i mean, but they should have a huge thing
if it's big enough, but a small fan at the bottom and have colored shiny paper kind of like aluminum foil but a lot more flexible put that at the bottom and make it like flames have those bike handle streamers the shiny girly things you put on a girl's bike handles and put that inside the flames so that the fan blows it around and it has motion not sure if it'll work, but it's worth a try don't you think?
well for the rest of it, use air-dry clay to give the 3-d effect BUT DON'T PAINT IT with brushes and don't attatch it directly to the shuttle when the clay whatever you're making is done drying, spray it with spray paint, it's an even coat and you can even make all shiny and whatnot
to make it look like it's blasting off, well if you look at the pictures, there is usually something holding it up until the boosters fall off and then it's in the sky
if it's already in the sky, don't put the booster on it because they already fell off

Arming Hubble For 2012?

Atlantis launched at 2:01 p.m. EDT on one last maintenance mission to the Hubble Space Telescope, the 19-year-old orbiting observatory that floats at an altitude littered with space debris. The seven-member crew of space shuttle Atlantis lifted off Monday for one of the riskiest shuttle flights yet — so risky, in fact, that another space shuttle is ready to launch in case they need to be rescued. Maybe a new movie in the makings? 

Cosmologist, Mario Livio of the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore says that we're going to get more great science. Just in time science for 2012 maybe? :-)

Hubble will go from a VW SuperBeetle to a high-powered race car," says astronomer Julianne Dalcanton of the University of Washington in Seattle. Hubble will peer at stars and galaxies formed 500 million years after the Big Bang, armed with a new camera 30 times more sensitive to light and a chemical spectrometer 10 times more effective. "We will be able to plan observations we never could before simply because the telescope will be more efficient," Livio said in an April interview.

Hubble has delivered many astronomical findings such as:

Cepheids, which are pulsating stars thousands of times brighter than our sun, serve as ready-made distance markers in space. Measuring Cepheids in galaxies such as the Spiral Galaxy M100 allows astronomers to create a framework by which they can precisely gauge distances throughout the sky.

Star blasts which means that after stars consume their hydrogen fuel, an explosion can't be far behind. Images of nearby explosions reveal the "light echoes" of blast waves shocking clouds of dust that escape from stars on the edge of eruption.

Black holes have been a great enhancement to our knowledge of the universe. Hubble has observed the stars orbiting near suspected super-massive black holes, from which nothing — not even light — can escape, such as the Sagittarius A* at the center of our own Milky Way Galaxy. Hubble has also detected previously unsuspected middle-size black holes (merely 10,000 times more massive than the sun) in nearby galaxies.

"Deep field" images from Hubble first surprised astronomers by showing that the most distant, and earliest, galaxies don't resemble the spiral and football-shaped galaxies of the modern universe, but look more like "insects spattered on a windshield."

The age of the universe has been honed by the precision of the "Hubble constant," (also named for the astronomer Edwin Hubble) the measure of the universe's expansion rate. Hubble measurements of exploding stars led to the 1998 discovery of "dark energy," the unexplained observation that galaxies across the cosmos are moving apart at an accelerating rate.

Remarkably, the space telescope doesn't represent a very advanced observatory compared to massive telescopes on Earth, such as the 33-foot-wide mirror of Hawaii's Keck telescopes. But its location in orbit frees it from clouds, atmospheric distortion and city lights on Earth, making it invaluable to astronomers.

If you're a cosmologist, It's hard to conceive of a world without Hubble! And, with 2012 around the corner who knows what we'll find?
