Star Wars Pictures to colour

Is the green screen today what audio and color once were to film?

Many silent film producers were reluctant to embrace "talking" pictures because they felt that it would detract attention from aesthetic details. Looking at the mise en scene in good silent films, I can understand their worries. Then purists didn't want to make movies in color because the quality of color film was so bad at the time it came out.

Do you think that CGI and the ever-prevalent use of the green screen is the new issue in filmmaking? I think this technology is amazing and have seen it put to perfect use, but it seems like most directors (particularly Hollywood) abuse it and do it sloppily. Do films like "Sin City" and the Star Wars prequel really benefit from being shot in shallow digital with actors standing on a stage?

I don't personally like it, but I do know that it can be done very well.
Maybe once technology catches up and we can make if perfectly lifelike- PERFECTLY- maybe we can revisit the idea in filmmaking.

like i have stated in my last question i am a great fan of starwars and i'd like to have more info on the people off starwars(anyone counts) plus i'm going to start writing a story soon and i am going to need some information about them plus pictures would also help so that i could describe them colour of light saber and how tall if they have special heights and what race of alian they are and theire rank(padawan,,jedi, jediknight,ex) thank you

Cool Hand Luke 6-sheet Poster

I am having trouble deciding on a career within media production, please could I get some pointers?

I am currently working though Media , music tech , Art and ICT A levels, and although I have no real experience of work in media production but I am almost certain its what I want to do. I have created a movie poster for media which is here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/60414649@N05/5512527373/) just so you can judge. also what kind of things should I be looking to do, I am attending career fairs,but still not sure on how to proceed , maybe a uni media course ??? thanks all the best luke

Well it looks like you are just having trouble focusing on a career path because you are not sure what specific jobs exist within media and entertainment. I would suggest that you try to determine what specific field interests you most: Film/TV, Music, Games, Live Events, etc. Numerous different careers exist within these fields that range from art creation to technical production. Make a list of the types of tasks you would enjoy doing, and then compare that list the with job descriptions of various jobs that seem interesting to you. Star Ocean III character help!?

Ok I was playing Star Ocean III one time and I remember a guy with green hair, glasses and a long robe. He was in the castle at Aquios I think and he was the one working on the war machine (he was like an engineer or the person who came up with the design of the machine or something) The thing is it was so long ago that I played the game that I can't remember his name! I also would like to find a picture of him but can't find a pic of him anywhere So my question is what's his name? And if possible, where can I find a pic of him?

His name was Dion, as far as pictures I'd guess you can do a Google search of him.

Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace Darth Maul “One Hate One Truth” Subway/Fan club Promotional Poster (Glossy)

This was offered in the UK Subway restaurants back in 1999, then later from the Star Wars Fanclub. This is a very rare poster and not many were produced. Its been in the cardboard shipping tube ever sense I bought it, cause it was to large to frame. It’s in perfect condition and only has a small minor crease on the side. It measures approximately 5F x 3F9”

I am not an expert, but I believe in the adage, "It's only worth whatever someone is willing to pay." Have you checked E-bay? If you can find any others there, you could get a good idea of the value today.
