Who thinks there will be a Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 3, KOTOR3. I know that BioWare and Lucas Arts are developing a Star Wars KOTOR Online, but are they making an additional console game?

I don't think anyone really knows for sure at this point. The entire announcement of KOTOR III at E3 was a very quiet thing itself. I'd like to think that the whole MMO aspect will be an optional feature for PC users and that a console game will be released also. It'd be the smartest way to go, really.

But George Lucas is crazy, so you never know.

Ralph McQuarrie, Star Wars concept artist question?

Does anyone know what kind of paints Ralph McQuarrie used to create his Star Wars Artwork? I'm an artist and I can almost always tell what a piece of artwork was done in by looking at it, but with his art I can't figure it out. It looks like oil or acrylic in some ways, but also seems to have some characteristics of watercolor. Also, there's so many perfectly strait lines and clean, hard edges. How does he get those with a paint brush?

TheForce.Net rejecting Star Wars Fan Fiction?

Hey,
Anyone ever tried to submit star wars but rejected or get annoyed with having to fill out the Submittion forms. Well, I run an online star wars fan club that submits fan fiction, fan films and fan art, with a hell of a lot easier info form then them. Mostly all you have to do is tell me about your story and then send it. And it will be posted. If Anyone is interested please contact me at SkywalkerJedi6@verizon.net. I don't write star wars fanfiction, just because I can't imagine the story going any other way, nor do I really care to imagine beyond how it ends. Don't get me wrong, Star Wars was my first obsession, I just don't want to write about it.

I do write sailor moon fanfiction though, and have found the only place where I get lots of feedback and reviews is http://www.fanfiction.net. You should try there.

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron Preview

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron is a PlayStation Portable exclusive made by Lucas Arts. Ironically enough, the video game will have a much different perspective on the Star Wars universe. It is the next game in the Star Wars Battlefront series that transpires between the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Gamers will be in control of protagonist Han Solo. This marks the first video game based on the egotistical sharpshooter as the lead character. Various other playable characters include Kit Fisto and Admiral Ackbar. That is merely the single player campaign. The multiplayer aspect entails over twenty different maps. Some locations are on the ground, and others will occur in space (ala Star Wars Rogue Squadron). Since the game is on the PSP, there are some limitations. One of them being a sixteen player multiplayer, and the other being not exactly next generation visuals. A customized character feature will also be utilized in the game. Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron probably will not be as great as the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game, but it does give PSP owners something to play other the Metal Gear games. The game is slated for an October 2007 release date.

XBox 360 Fracture soundtrack sounds like Star Wars?

Perhaps I'm going crazy, but while playing Fracture by Lucas Arts, I noticed that a great deal of the soundtrack sounds like many of the Star Wars games. If anyone has any comments or additional info about this phenomenon please post. Good additional info will earn a best answer.

Movies to Games – the Art or Another Commercial Step of Hollywood?

What is the first difference between movies and games? Games are active action and movies are passive. They provoke in our brains different psychic reactions like the walk or the standing on one place. Second, movies have one strict plotline and the game plot line may be changed with our actions or different ways to come to the final point. From the first sight not important but indeed fundamental differences between games and movies lead Hollywood producers to a fault thinking that if they take a plot (and name!) of successful video game, couple of famous actors – the highly profitable movie is done – people will run to cinemas fighting for tickets. Not really… Yes, part of the public (mostly fans of the game) will go see the movie but after disappointment – critics, bad critical information in internet, conversations will be spread across the country. What kind of reputation movie is going to have?

Well, I’ll give you the list of best games based on movies been made and the list of worst games based on movies by internet user’s opinion.

Best games-to-movies: King Kong, Spiderman, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, Lego Star War, Star War Battlefront 2, The Warriors, From Russia with Love (James Bond), The Matrix: Path of Neo, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Godfather. These games (you probably played half of them) worth attention.

Worst games-to movies list: Friday the 13th, Shrek 2, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jaws: Unleashed, Ghostbusters II, The Blues Brothers, Street Fighter: The Movie, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Enter the Matrix, Iron Man.

Of course, you may have your own opinion as for “best” and “worst” but still the fact is a fact most of games to movies and movies to games are fail! Though Hollywood is keep trying to entertain us with new movies (as well as to make as much money as possible on naive gamers) or perhaps it is a lack of imagination which is recently observed in last Hollywood movies. Each genre has a standard scheme with sequence of events, when you already know the end of the movie at the beginning. You probably will watch a few movies like this but then you will feel boredom. Are there no talented people in Hollywood who can write a genius screen play? Directors, do you think that fresh genius idea worth less then used and d worn one? You think just about commercial part and popularity? And what about the art?

Was an actual light sabre fighting art worked out for the Star Wars films?

In fiction different schools of light sabre fighting techniques were detailed, but is what you see on screen part of a developed fighting art, or is it all random waving and sfx?
The BBC reports of people injured in a recent mock light sabre duel, and amazon.co.uk will sell me a replica light sabre... but how do you use it properly?

No, they had actual masters help design the swordfights and such. There are actually several different styles, each with their own moves, strengths and weaknesses. Look at the ways Obi-wan and Anakin hold their lightsabers in the "ready" position before beginning. Obi-wan's is a more defensive stance, while Anakin's is more agressive allowing a powerful first strike more in keeping with his feelings. Mace Windu supposedly created his own style that is immensly powerful and skirts perilously close to the dark side, so he doesn't teach it to other Jedi.

The Art Of Star Wars EXHIBITION (SHIPS)

Kettlebells, Martial Arts Flexibility And Russian Training Techniques

Russian martial arts flexibility and strength training techniques such as kettlebells have been available to Western Special Forces for many years from Russian masters of martial arts. Russian territory reaches from the west through middle Asia to China, and they have the benefit of the best of self defence and aggressive techniques from all of these territories within their armed forces.

Both before and after the destruction of the communist ways in parts of the USSR, Russian fitness experts crossed to Europe to provide us with the benefits of their knowledge of self defence and strength training, and both UK and American forces have reaped the benefits of this specialized Russian knowledge. Much of this knowledge is now available online to ordinary people with an interest in improving their strength, flexibility and relaxation techniques in order that they can attain the highest levels possible in their chosen sport or game. That means you!

Take Russian kettlebells, for example. Russian power lifters and martial arts experts are available online to offer you instruction in how to use these simple weights to build exceptional power and strength throughout your whole body. For those not familiar with kettlebells, they are simple heavy balls with a handle so that you can lift them. They are very simple but can make a person stronger, more explosive, and with unbelievable endurance and coordination: just what is needed in any martial art, and used extensively in Russian military training.

Many martial artists, especially in the initial stages of study, are unaware of the true importance of strength, speed and power. In very simple terms, strength + speed = power. If you strike with great strength and high speed, you will generate great power. It is for reasons such as this that great Russian exponents of fitness and martial arts training such as Pavel Tsatsouline have been employed by the American special forces, police and other organizations to teach techniques such as those that enabled Russian Cossacks to slice a man from shoulder to saddle with nothing but a light saber (not a 'light saber' as in star Wars, but a saber that is not heavy!). This is spelled 'sabre' in Europe, where it originated.

They could do this through relaxation techniques, gained by repeatedly slashing into water while standing waist deep in a lake. This sounds easy, but not after doing it for hours, and needs total relaxation until the instant of strike. This is exactly as a martial artist or boxer should be totally relaxed until the arm snaps straight with maximum forward momentum and power, and then relaxes immediately after strike until the next strike which could be a fraction of a second later.

Relaxation can become second nature through the use of Qigong or Tai Chi training, the Chinese art of relaxation. Many people regard it as an exercise for wimps, yet the greatest martial arts exponents in the world use it for relaxation, as do many of the world's elite martial forces. Meet these guys face to face and call them wimps!

Through a combination of kettlebells, relaxation training and flexibility, the Russian special forces were among the most feared in the world in unarmed combat, which is why they were employed to train the armed forces of the USA. Their techniques are available online if you know where to look, and relaxation that leads to speed, endurance and flexibility appears to be one of their main skills.

Its opposite is tension, which is composed of strength and power. At the moment of a martial artist's strike, speed and power are backed up with mass, but an instant later the fist is totally relaxed as it snaps back to guard. Many sports other than just martial arts depend on tension and relaxation, the two aspects of the expert sportsman.

Russian training techniques offer opportunities to improve your tension and relaxation. Strength is increased through the use of kettlebells, power through dynamic and kinetic training, speed through flexibility training and relaxation through qigong and other such techniques. Those that laugh and claim that they do not work would shudder at seeing the power and capabilities of the Cossack, as did the opponents who would rather run than face them. They were more powerful that their horses and the most feared opponents in the known world at the time.

If you want to improve to your ability at most sports, but especially in martial arts, learn from the Cossacks and Russians. Learn from their martial arts flexibility techniques, and kettlebell strength exercises. They are simple to understand, and the equipment is inexpensive

Where can I find cool, original Star Wars art or gifts?

My husband is a HUGE Star Wars fan and I want to get him something he'll enjoy. Thanks!

I hate to be unoriginal, but you got to go to Ebay. Type in "star wars" and art, and search until your heart's content. At any given time there are 50-75,000 Star Wars items on Ebay, so you'll be able to find something in any price range.

Some of my personal favorites are:

little statues by "gentle giant" (type in "star wars" "gentle giant" in the search box and you'll get a lot of choices)

if your husband has some old stuff, enter "star wars" vintage and you'll find a bunch of that too.

if you want something to frame, enter "star wars" portfolio, and you can get some sets of concept art prints by Ralph McQuarrie.

If you are new to Ebay, just a couple of pointers: look around a little to make sure you are getting a good deal. Don't just buy the first thing you see. There is a lot out there, so make sure. Also, make sure the shipping is reasonable.

Check on Ebay. That's where my husband has found most of the games that are no longer published or available on store shelves. You can also check amazon.com, since they have private sellers, but they set the prices (no auction), so you might pay more for the games.
